Dave Odom To Retire or Does ESPN Have it Wrong (Again)

Here in Columbia it’s the same crap everyday from the local radio sports shows. Everyone and their mother want Dave Odom to either get fired or retire. Honestly I can’t blame the USC fans for this. Don’t get me wrong I have no ill feelings toward the man, and from what I’ve seen he seems to be a classy guy.

When Tennessee was embarrassing the Gamecocks in basketball last Saturday night, a disturbing trend was occurring. Odom, who is in his seventh season, was greeted with a smattering of boos during pre-game introductions and as USC fell further and further behind the fans let him have it. The chants were horrid trust me. Hopefully some of the Lame Gamecock fans will boo their drunken USC student body president was arrested earlier this month.

Now ESPN claims to have another “scoop”, kinda like that scoop about Les “Big Hat Little Penis” Miles leaving LSU to take the Michigan job. Andy Katz of ESPN is claiming Dave Odom will retire in the “near” future. Of course Odom is stating that the internet rumors are false. Given ESPN’s recent track record I’m inclined to believe Odom. Of course if he does announce his retirement tomorrow then that means Odom is a liar. One or the other. USC just beat Arkansas at Arkansas last night. Until last night the Hogs were undefeated at home this year.

Only time will tell if Odom is true to his word or a liar. In any event USC sucks in both football and basketball.
