When message board trash talk goes way to far

Message boards…what sports fan doesn’t love them? There fans can hurl insults to the fans of opposing teams without worrying about getting their teeth kicked in. Most of the times it’s in good fun however sometimes it’s not and while some of the insults can be unpleasant in the end no one gets hurt. That is until recently.
In an attempt to get the Seattle Seahawk fan base excited about this weekend’s game against the New York Giants, a poster named “Mason” decided to strive to new depths of douche bagginess on a message board name the Seahawks Huddle.
What this poster did was spark an amazing amount of negative responses thanks to its unprecedented levels of classlessness. They chose to attack the New York fans using the tragic events of 9/11. Who knew Al-Qaeda were Seahawk fans?
Here are some of the posts:
Q: What was the last thing going through Mr. Jones’ head when he was working on the World Trade Center’s 90th floor?
A: The 91st floor.
Q: What’s the last thing that went through the minds of the 9/11 jumpers?
A: Their ankles.
Did you hear the one about American Airlines new deal? They’ll fly you straight from the airport to the office.
Q: What is the New York City Fire Department’s favorite song?
A: “It’s Raining Men”
“It’s a bird!”
“It’s a plane!”
“It’s…. Oh shit, it IS a plane!”
Some responses to post from other fans:
“wow! those are great!”
“Dont get your panties in a knot, they are just jokes…obviously there is more than one person in the united states who has written/read these jokes, so dont point fingers that we are the insesitive ones.”
Well its obvious “Mason” is an idiot and rumor is there were so many negative responses that the board moderators eventually pulled the thread. Thankfully I have visual evidence to back this story up.
Like I said message board trash talk can be fun but as with everything else, there’s always some dumbass who takes things way to far.
Well Seattle fans, at least there’s the upcoming NBA season to look forward to. Wait a minute….
