cheerleaders

This would have been posted earlier but I kinda sorted screwed up and forgot to send Joel the bowl schedule. Yeah, my bad, I’m a dick. Whatever. Anywho let’s go over this year bowl schedule and mine and Joel’s picks and then you call your bookie.

This year there is a smorgasbord of crap-tastic games to choose from! Yay!

Non-BCS Bowls

EagleBank Bowl
When: Dec. 20, 11 a.m., ESPN
Where: Washington
Who: Navy vs. Wake Forest

Joel says: Anchors aweigh. I really wish Navy would have beat Notre Dame again this year. Wait, this is a real bowl game???

Thomas says: I pick Navy because I’m sick and damn tired of hearing how the Wake Forest is so good. Blah blah blah. Is this bowl game being funded by any of the bailout money by the way? Read the rest of this entry »

College Football Week 7 is in the books & here’s what I learned

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 12, 2008

Chaos in the polls and I love it!!!! Yesterday was definitely the best slate of games this whole season and of course the best slate to surprising upsets.

Who is #1? It’s question that will be answered later today in the coaches poll and will be argued by everyone in the country.

I wonder who is feeling the heat more Tommy Bowden or Phillip Fulmer. Of course Tennessee lost because they suck no matter how hard I cheer for them. The full write up on the game verses Georgia will be tomorrow after I painstakingly watch a tape of the game later today.

Toledo’s record against Michigan improved to 1-0 yesterday which was a shocker.

I’m sure Arkansas is tanking Auburn for firing their offensive coordinator. You can the “inside” story of the firing right here.

All eyes were definitely on Texas yesterday as they upended Oklahoma.

“I’m 40! I’m a man! & I just beat Missouri bitches!” says Mike Gundy AKA America’s coach.

Tim “TiVo the Teabag” Tebow can go back to circumcising kids now since Florida hands LSU an ugly loss. Hell Tennessee didn’t allow Florida to score that many points.

Penn St. makes an argument on why they should be considered #1. as they gave Wisconsin a second straight loss at Camp Randall.

The Texas Tech offense isn’t putting up the points it used to but manages to defeat Nebraska and avoid being upset.

USC rolled against a dead Arizona State team.

BYU won. Who cares?

What’s wrong with Ohio State’s offense? Sure they won but they only scored 16 at home.

I was one of the few people in my pick’em to pick Miss. State over Vandy. Bobby Johnson you just got Croomed!

Kansas proves that they are still a factor in the Big 12.

Everyone point and laugh at Notre Dame. OK that’s enough. I seriously wonder how much Charlie Weis weighs.

It took the G-Spot Stephen “I keyed a professor’s car” Garcia to allow South Carolina a victory or KY. Hey Brooks maybe they stole your plays as well…asshole.

Look out Virginia is 3-3.

Not only does Lou Holtz have a lisp, slobbers when he talks but he also looks like he has had a chemical peel that never healed.

Georgia Tech you barely defeated Gardner-Webb seriously WTF?

Show some love to Minnesota as they handed the Illinois Fighting Zookers a surprising loss at Illinois.

Wow Iowa actually won a game.

Dumb ass comment of the day goes to Lou Holtz when he mentioned comparing Colt McCoy’s stats to that of Vince Young’s the year Vince Young won the Heisman. The problem is Young never won the Heisman…what a dumb ass.

College Football Week 4 is in the books & here’s what I learned

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on September 21, 2008

So far this season is not like last season but so far so good nonetheless.

Tennessee sucks! Wait I already knew that…expect some more on this subject as the week progresses.

Georgia adds to the PAC 10 non conference woes by beating Arizona State with ease and Oregon did not help matters much by losing to Boise State. Basically everyone in the PAC 10 is playing for second place behind SoCal. Anyone see the awesome dive Moreno did to score the first TD? However he should have received a flag for celebration.

To see it live was awesome.

Missouri failed to impress against Buffalo.

Texas and Texas Tech. both flex some Big 12 muscle yesterday by trouncing their opponents.

And The Tide of Alabama continues to roll however credit 14 points of the 49 they scored to great defense.

South Florida fails to impress.

Not so fast Auburn fans and haters…they do have an offense after all but they lost nevertheless. Les “Big Hat Little Penis” Miles might be at least the 2nd best coach in the SEC. This was easily the best game of the week.

South Carolina gets by 1-AA Wofford…Spurrier can’t be happy right now.

Ohio State is the most over ranked in the top 25, Penn State is the team to beat in the Big Eleven Ten.

BYU is easily this years BCS buster…but let’s not forget about Utah.

East Carolina…fails…but Skip Holtz is still a hot commodity.

Florida State’s offense is simply lost and Wake Forest is the team to bear in the ACC.

Butch Davis better go back to the drawing board because North Carolina isn’t there yet.

Georgia Tech wrecked Miss State and Sly Croom.

Hell has frozen over because right now Vandy is sitting atop the SEC East.

Kansas let’s not forget about them.

Clemson got some frustration out by beating up on SC State.

Fresno State…is still ranked for a reason.

Hey Notre Dame still sucks imagine that.

Pittsburgh pick up your Big East flag & wave it proudly…just like last year Iowa sucks.

Look at Maryland 3-1 and might be ranked come later today.

Boston College could also be ranked as well.

Syracuse actually wins a game, of course it was against a 1-AA opponent but a win is a win.

Cincinnati is still looking like the team to beat in the Big East.

Miami will be scary good by the end of the year.

Jimmy Clausen: Notre Dame QB, Drinker and Fashion Faux Pas

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on August 6, 2008

"Hey, who ordered the Queer Eye makeover?" (chugs two beers) "We're the Party Brigade. We're here to play some drinking games."

The golden child of Notre Dame might be some trouble yet again. Jimmy Clausen the younger brother of 1 ½ (Rick gets the ½) Tennessee QB Gods Casey and Rick, has already had one brush with the law you know for that little “bootlegging” charge last year.

Well, for the second time in a year, Notre Dame Quarterback Jimmy Clausen may have to explain his alleged participation in a situation involving alcohol & at least two other teammates might be doing some explaining with him.

See that lovely picture? Why that’s the golden boy participating in something called the ‘Beer Olympics’ or Jimmy is joining the Bloods one or the other.

Notre Dame stated they will investigate possible school code violations after these photos all over the frigging place. They appear to depict Clausen, teammates Brian Smith and James Aldridge and one other individual getting their drink on.

Going 3-9 will drive a person to drinking that I have to believe.

I imagine every drinking party in Notre Dame somehow ends in a “Rudy!” chant.

Don’t Worry Irish fans Notre Dame is already developing a cover story even though there is beer on the table in front of the players, the photos do not show the players actively consuming alcohol.

Nevertheless at least two of the players would not be of legal drinking age: Clausen, who does not turn 21 until Sept. 21, and Smith, who does not reach 21 until 2010. Aldridge turned 21 on July 6.

“The office of Residence Life will investigate possible violations of university policies when it is made aware of them, such as in this case,” Notre Dame school spokesman Dennis Brown said Monday.

“I used bad judgment in being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and I’ve learned from my mistake,” Clausen said during his first media appearance after the citation in August 2007.

Well he still hasn’t learned any fashion sense either. Remember when he arrived in a limo at the College Football Hall of Fame, hair immaculately spiked and product-filled, sunglasses on & Bling blinged-up?

He almost made Brady Quinn look straight.

My problem wasn’t that he was drinking but trying to imitate the Ultimate Warrior while wearing a fake satin baseball jacket is pathetic. Since when are fake satin jackets from the 1980’s making a comeback?

MAYBE he can drink, but does he have Tebow’s miraculous healing powers? I think not.

Jimmy Clausen should pause before every decision he needs to make and think “What would Tim Tebow do?” He should then circumcise something.

Has anyone ever set himself up for failure more than Jimmy Clausen? At the HOF press conference, Jimmy flashed his HS championship rings and announced (Paraphrasing) that “he would win another four at Notre Dame.” I’m sure Beano Cook nutted in his bag of Werthers Original, but I couldn’t believe anyone could be that stupid.

Time for the Guardian Angels defense. Matt Leinart sees nothing wrong with this, except the fruity wardrobe.

Anyone Want To Run Notre Dame Athletics???

Posted by Joel Jackson on July 14, 2008

Kevin White, the man who fired more Notre Dame football coaches than anyone else, left for the “greener pastures” at Duke University on May 31. Since then, the school has been looking for the next guy to fire Charlie Weis athletic director. The school was recently turned down by ex-Irish football player Steve Orsini, currently the AD at SMU. Where does the school turn now, since the school was turned down by a man who played on the 1977 championship team and is currently at a school still feeling the sting of the NCAA “Death Penalty”???

Of course, I have an answer…

Right now, the school’s website does not have the AD’s job listed. They have a job posting for a parking lot attendant for game day (at $9.00/hr) and a Director of Gift Planning, who has the task of collecting fat checks from alums and “friends of the school”. They curiously do not have the AD’s position there. Why??? Did they run out of space??? Does the NBC contract not pay for internet???

My answer is tat bastion of both virtue and vice. User friendly and free, whether you want a lawn mower or a trashy dancer who works at the Nasty Tuna Club: Craigslist. I have posted the following in the jobs section of the Indianapolis site of Craigslist:

AD At ND???

How far has a school gone down the crapper that a proud alum has turned down the AD job??? Your current AD left for, of all places, Duke, because he won’t have boosters breathing down his neck as THEIR pick for a football coach racks up losses against USC and Navy. Oh, but Weis can’t win with Willingham’s recruits!!! Correction: Weis won with the “great” Brady Quinn, a Willingham recruit.

The reality is that Weis looked like a genius in the NFL because of Bill Bellichick and Tom Brady (a Michigan man). The reality is that as Jimmy “Beer Bong” Claussen and Evan “Scared To Play Behind Shaky O-Line” Sharpley continue to throw picks, and as Paul Hornung continues racist rants about “lowering academic standards” in order to “get the black athlete”, the program will slip into even more mediocrity as Fresno State, UConn, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech have all caught up to. USC is now light years ahead, but there is no shame in that. Ohio State can’t catch USC either, but OSU can’t catch a cold if it comes from the SEC…

*singing* 3 tears for old Notre Dame, can’t find an AD, that is a shame.

I hope that helps.

Here’s A Way To Keep Gas Prices Down

Posted by Joel Jackson on July 7, 2008

Everyone is being affected by the high gas prices in our country right now. Our company, like most businesses, is seeing transportation and manufacturing costs rise almost exponentially. The average American is spending more on gas than at any time in our country’s history. Sadly, this trend, according to some analysts, will continue through the end of the year. Currently, Obama and McCain have included plans to help alleviate the energy crisis, and from barbershops to flea markets, everyone has an answer…including me 😉

Yes, even a pagan such as myself has an answer to the gas crunch…

I would not dare suggest that we start drilling on the hallowed grounds of Notre Dame Stadium. But the Fighting Irish, warming up here last year against Navy (which Navy won), is the solution.

According to the World Almanac, in 1973, the average price of a gallon of gas in the U.S. was 51 cents a gallon. Notre Dame won the national title that year. Every year after, the price of gas went up on average of 3 cents a gallon. In 1977, gas was up to 65 cents a gallon. Notre Dame won the national title again. Gas prices did not rise again until 1979. But in 1980, gas went up into the 1 dollar range (right before the Gerry Faust era). When Lou Holtz delivered the Fighting Irish another title in 1986, gas actually went down to 93 cents, down from 1.20. Consequentially, gas prices experienced huge jumps in 1999 (when they were placed on probation under Bob Davie) and also in 2004 (when Ty Willingham was fired).

To me it is simple: We should all root for Notre Dame to win the national title this year. Get them a national TV contract. Continue to have high hopes for them, even if it may seem misguided. Give them a schedule that should guarantee some success. Like the great Paul Hornung said, “Get the black athlete”. Above all, someone in the national media, hell, make it two people in the national media, should stomp for them.

Only then the terrorists won’t win…Touchdown Jesus will…

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on June 19, 2008

Since I’m suffering from writers block, lack of sleep and lack of football, I’ve got nothing today. So let’s have the very first YMSWWC caption contest using the photo below. No this isn’t a photoshop, this pic was taken when Charlie and the coaches were on their goodwill tour. Have fun and may the best caption win.

Piling on Notre Dame

Posted by Joel Jackson on December 31, 2007

Ah yes, one of my favorite teams reside in South Bend, Indiana. God’s chosen team is the University of Notre Dame. How do I know this??? Because the school has a huge painting of Jesus on the library directly behind the football stadium, so that He may see his favorite team play. It warms the heart when the school’s band plays the fight song. The school’s list of famous alums spans the entire spectrum of life, from Regis Philbin to Condoleeza Rice…

Screw this: NOTRE DAME SUCKS!!! Now where do I begin??? Let’s start with the mascot. The “Fightin’ Irish”. To symbolize the “spirit” of the fight, the school adopted a leprechaun to represent it. So let me get this straight: A mythical creature which obviously does not represent any Christian values is the symbol of a Catholic school. Do I just look at things in a weird way, because while I am no biblical scholar, I don’t recall any leprechauns in the word of God. When Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den, there weren’t any “fighting leprechauns” fending off dangerous felines. Can we say hypocrisy???

Now let’s talk about the overrated football program. This football program has been living off of championships won years ago. Lou Holtz won a title, which must have been divine intervention, but what have they done since??? The fact remains that the school’s boosters is the only reason that the school is even relevant today. Every year, the school is preseason top 25, simply because it is Notre Dame. Guess where the school will be ranked pre-season next year??? I am willing to bet a #4 combo from McDonald’s that Notre Dame will be there, despite only winning 3 games this year.

Now, this I know will stir the pot of Irish fans, but screw it: The Ty Willingham thing was just wrong. Now, before I get a bunch of hate from “Irish fans”, which “scares” me, I am not talking from a racial perspective. But every coach that they have had was given 5 years. Willingham wasn’t. True, he won early, but to let him go after a “subpar” year for Notre Dame was wrong. Even Gerry Faust got 5 years, but because your big money boosters gave Kevin White some heat, he caved under the pressure. So you went out and got Fat Boy, Charlie Weis.

Oh, who can forget the “Great Architect” of the Patriots offense during the Super Bowl years. The only problem was that Belichick wasn’t coming with him. So you won early, getting 2 BCS Bowl bids that you did not deserve. Let’s revisit those 2 Bowl games:

*Fiesta Bowl-Ohio State blew you out, just like Brent Musburger gave “courageous” Brady Quinn and his sister Laura virtual blowjobs on the air…

*Sugar Bowl-LSU completely dominated you as soon as they stepped off of the bus. It wasn’t even close. Does this look familiar???

The Revelations After a Saturdays Worth of Football Week 7

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 14, 2007

As I said last week, this is the best college football season ever! Does anyone want to be #1? Here is what I noticed yesterday while eating chicken strips served by a waitress whose skirt was so small it could have passed for Coach 0’s IQ.

The difference between Kentucky and LSU yesterday was clearly the coaching job.

Southern Cal. looked unimpressive yesterday.

Vanderbilt looked scary but the running game of Georgia put them in their place.

Cal proved they were pretenders.

OMG Iowa actually won a game…they still suck.

JoePa focused all his inner road rage into coaching this week & look at the outcome.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Coach Fran fired today.

Let’s see Nebraska fired Frank Solich because of his record…and yet they suck worse than ever before. Black shirt defense my ass more like pink shirt with lace defense. As America’s coach Mike Gundy would say “Their defense is garbage and it makes me want to puke!”

Clemson didn’t lose!! Oh wait they weren’t playing my bad

Ole Miss has the best looking cheerleaders by far.

The reason why Boston lost to Cleveland is because I didn’t wear my Red Boston hat, I wore the blue one instead. The loss falls on me.

Tennessee’s defense is schizophrenic.

Oklahoma made a huge statement yesterday, look for them to play Missouri again in the championship game.

Nick Saban was almost out coached by Coach 0 (snicker)

South Florida looked impressive.

Houston Nutt should be looking for a new job.

Bye Bye Cincinnati now get out of the big boy polls.

Virgina showed the world that the ACC is better than the Big East.

Colorado is back to sucking.

ABC has the worst game commentators while CBS has the best.

Michigan should be ranked again.

Finally I can’t rip on Notre Dame enough so I leave you this:

So I profess on this day 10/14/07.

The Revelations After a Saturdays Worth of Football Week 6

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 7, 2007

First of all I just want to say this is the best season of college football ever!!! OK, yesterday I was forced to watch football from 3 critical locations.

  • My couch
  • The Wild Hare Sports Bar Cafe
  • My buddy Johns couch.

Some of you might remember me stating in week one that The Fighting Zookers Illini were going to good, do you believe me now? They should be ranked.

What a win for Butch Davis and North Carolina.

The Wisconsin QB is seriously underrated.

Look for Ohio State to jump Cal in the polls.

Way to go K-State. (sarcasm)

The Fighting Zookers Illini have the best running back no one has ever heard of.

I realize the YoJoe and The Gridiron Goddess are mourning this morning after Stanford beat USC at USC, but I did say if Southern Cal continues to make mistakes they would lose. I just didn’t think it would be to Stanford. By the way Gridiron Goddess is rather pissed off right now and I’m frightened.

Alabama needs to learn how to close games out.

While Tennessee’s win over Georgia looks impressive, there are still questions, I’ll go into full details later today.

I give Florida credit for playing hard and leaving it all on the field.

I told you last week that this is the time that Clemson falls apart.

Hi we’re Nebraska football and we suck.

Oh look Iowa lost again, maybe they’ll get a much needed win against Michigan State who lost to North Western (snicker)

Was Tebow crying last night?

I see the Cinderella story of Rutgers is finally dead.

Even though Texas A&M beats America’s coach, Mike “I’m 40 I’m a man!” Gundy’s team, Dennis Franchione will still be fired, I’ll go into details about that later as well.

What a great win for Oklahoma, especially since I hate Texas.

Boston College was just showing off yesterday.

Go Boston Redsox clip the Angels wings!!!

UCLA has to be the worst team in the country to get beaten by Notre Dame, thanks a lot for crushing my dreams of a winless Notre Dame team. Bastards.

The more I hear Lou Holz talk the more he reminds me of Sylvester the Cat. I’m waiting for him to say “Suffering Succotash”.

That’s all for now…look for some important articles coming up soon.

So I profess on this day 10/07/07.
