Posted by Thomas the Terrible on December 18, 2008

This would have been posted earlier but I kinda sorted screwed up and forgot to send Joel the bowl schedule. Yeah, my bad, I’m a dick. Whatever. Anywho let’s go over this year bowl schedule and mine and Joel’s picks and then you call your bookie.

This year there is a smorgasbord of crap-tastic games to choose from! Yay!

Non-BCS Bowls

EagleBank Bowl
When: Dec. 20, 11 a.m., ESPN
Where: Washington

Joel says: Anchors aweigh. I really wish Navy would have beat Notre Dame again this year. Wait, this is a real bowl game???

Thomas says: I pick Navy because I’m sick and damn tired of hearing how the Wake Forest is so good. Blah blah blah. Is this bowl game being funded by any of the bailout money by the way? Read the rest of this entry »

College Football Week 12 is in the books & here’s what I learned

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on November 16, 2008

Let’s be honest. Yesterday offered a plethora of crappy games. On the bright side my beloved VOLS didn’t lose, of course they didn’t play but that’s not the point.

Clemson light Duke up. One more win and they’re bowl eligible.

Will Ron Zook be asked to step down after losing yet another game?

Look out Notre Dame is now bowl eligible even though Navy had a chance to win it in the end. Charles Weis really needs to look into doing some push-ups.

Georgia and the penalties they accrue almost cost them the game against Auburn.

chompFlorida hammered South Carolina which is absolutely hilarious to me. Living in Columbia you should have heard all the things the Cock fans were saying. Deuce Staley actually said on his weekly radio talk show, “Carolina’s defense can match up with anyone’s speed in the country.” Really Deuce? You couldn’t tell from their performance yesterday.

I continuously laugh when I watch TV ads for other schools. And then a Florida ad comes on. “Go Gators. Go cure cancer.” Oh, that seems pretty simple. Tebow will take care of that in between circumcisions this off-season.

Does anyone really want to win the ACC?

Miami should be thanking Maryland for beating North Carolina.

Wisconsin discovered something called a forward pass and beat Minnesota with it.

Has anyone noticed that Nebraska is bowl eligible yet?

Missouri wins the Big 12 North…yes people that still exists.

Florida State couldn’t control penalties & Boston College’s running game at the same time.

It can be said: Vandy is bowl eligible. Kentucky might have been still mourning the humiliating loss the basketball received at the hands of VMI the night before.

Washington is still winless go figure.

Houston doesn’t have a problem as they rack up 70 points against Tulsa.

LSU almost embarrassed themselves and the SEC yesterday.

Michigan endures their first 8 loss season ever. I’m sure they’re glad they hired Rich Rodriguez now.

Urban Meyer Sent A Assassin to try & Kill the Troy Defense.

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on September 11, 2007

I’m kicking off the Fuck Florida week with a bang. Florida fans…love their team, and that’s OK, but when you try to run the bus that carries the Troy defense off the road in a compact car, well that’s just plain Jort-terrificly stupid. Clearly they were being paid in sweet stinky weed by Meyer.

On the bus ride from Ocala to Saturday’s game in Gainesville against Florida, the Troy team encountered a female UF fan in a compact car, weaving between a team van and buses.

She was doing the chomp.

After cutting in front of the van driven by Trojans sports information director Ricky Hazel, the UF fan got even more brave.

“She tried to cut between the offensive (players’) bus and the defensive bus,” Hazel said. “She didn’t make it.”

The two buses were in the middle lane, with state trooper escorts in front of them. The compact was in the outside lane, swerving from right to left.

The front of the defensive bus was torn up by the car, which was sent weaving off of I-75 about five miles outside of Gainesville.

“The last I saw,” said Hazel, who watched the crash from the back of the entourage, “She was going off the side of the interstate at 50 mph.”

The driver appearing to be OK, one of the state troopers turned back to assist the Gator fan while the Troy team continued on.”

I’m all for supporting your favorite team, just not killing for them. Or getting a traffic ticket for them for that matter. You think Florida would have sprung for a better way to murder the Troy defense. Like RPGs, roadside bombs or organizing a mob of jort wearing locals to lynch someone. In the end it didn’t matter, because the Florida offense killed them on their own. But at a price, losing Andre Caldwell does hurt them. 🙂

“Fifth-ranked Florida will be without receiver Andre Caldwell for Saturday’s game against No. 22 Tennessee, however running back Brandon James will play.

Caldwell sprained his medial collateral ligament in Florida’s 59-31 win over Troy on Saturday and could be sidelined at least two weeks.

“That’s a blow,” coach Urban Meyer said Monday. “That’s a frontal shot right there.”

Caldwell touched the ball eight times for 130 yards and a touchdown in Florida’s first two games, averaging 16.3 yards per play. He caught 57 passes for 577 yards and six touchdowns last season. He also ran for a score and threw a touchdown pass.

“It’s a tough loss for us,” quarterback Tim Tebow said. “He’s a great player, a great leader for us and for our receiving corps. Everybody looks up to him.”

Meyer didn’t have a timetable for Caldwell’s return.

“All I’m going to tell you is he’s not going to play this week,” he said.”

Actually I glad Caldwell is OK, and it’s not serious. I never want to see a player, regardless of the team, suffer a career threatening injury.

So I profess on this day 9/11/07.
