Rock…Chalk…WTF?

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on March 23, 2009

Santa Claus got angrier then I remembered.

I hope you enjoyed the first and second round of the big dance this weekend. Now Kansas fans WTF is this? What is that he is holding, the J.D. Power Award for Best in Class Safety?

I’m not gonna lie … I have absolutely no idea what that is. My first four guesses:

  1. Moses
  2. Poseidon
  3. General Kris S. Kringle
  4. King Kandy

Two Nebraska wrestlers do not help stop the stereotype of gay men in tights

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on August 13, 2008

Two members of the University of Nebraska wrestling team, including one who won an NCAA championship in 2007, have been booted from the team after posing nude in videos and photographs on an Internet p0rn site.

Paul Donahoe and Kenny Jordan were featured in images and videos for Fratmentv.com, a Web site featuring naked or partially clothed male athletes.

Per Outsports.com here’s their advertising slogan:

“Our Models are all young, hot, athletic men in solo action, most of whom are exclusive to our site, so you won’t suffer from, the ‘Been There, Seen Him’ syndrome. We take great care to make sure our models are stunning and our content is of the highest quality … no grainy video with bad sound and static shots of a guy on a couch watching p0rn.”

Wrestlers who enjoy the gentle embrace of a man? Say whaaa?!! Ok, NOW does an ass tasting sound joke appropriate here????

Donahoe was a national champion in the 125 pound weight class in 2007. He finished third last year. Jordan is a junior.

“The history of behavior of these men, including the current matter, does not reflect the standard of excellence we aspire to on and off the mat,” Coach Mark Manning said in a statement. “We have outstanding student-athletes in our program and we will move forward in a positive manner toward our goals.

“I want to personally apologize for any embarrassment that may have been caused for our athletic department, the university and our fans,” Manning said.

Only two types of things I know of come from Nebraska, corn and porn, and I don’t see those two being slathered in butter and salt. At least not in public.

Jordan and Donahoe have also had run-ins with the Po Po in the past. Jordan has paid fines for possessing or consuming alcohol as a minor, trespassing and assault, and Donahoe for maintaining a disorderly house and having an open alcohol container.

I honestly didn’t know maintaining a disorderly house was crime in Nebraska. Sheesh Then again I thought all gay males kept a neat and clean home.

The Scarlet Project, a blog that touts itself for reporting “news, scandal and gossip” at the university, posted the pictures online but altered them so that they didn’t show full nudity and gross anyone out. The blog reported that they were obtained from an “anonymous” person. I’m betting the center of the football team.

John Marsh, who operates Fratmentv.com and two related Web sites said he’s spoken with Donahoe and Jordan and that both indicated they want to continue too explore the male body as college wrestlers. He said Donahoe was a “dynamite” wrestler.

“If Nebraska is going to be pigheaded and kick him off unreasonably,” Marsh said, “there has to be another wrestling program that’s going to want him.”

I’ll just leave you with this:

“I wear the REQUIRED UNIFORM!”

“Yeah….TIGHTS.”

Native American Basketball Player Proves she can Crossover Dribble while Shoplifting

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on July 16, 2008

I would personally like to thank Danometer for this story tip. And in the words of Dan:

“The OU Sooners used to be known as the Be$t Player$ Money ¢ould Buy, especially back under the Herr Switzer era. Did the pay-off cash dry up?”

Walmart must be beginning to hate University of Oklahoma athletes. It seems every few months an OU athlete is arrested in a Walmart which can be technically found every 2.5 square miles across this country.

Women’s basketball point guard Jenna Plumley sent a message out to the OU football players yesterday. The message was simple. If you can fail at shoplifting then so can I. I am woman hear roar!! (And cry when the cuffs are placed on my wrists)

According to an arrest report, Plumley was busted while trying to steal four cosmetics items valued at $34.65. She allegedly put a compact, eyeliner and two eye shadows in her purse after removing their bar codes and tried to leave the store without paying for them and by the looks of her she needs all the makeup she can get.

Officer Jennifer Newell said a Walmart theft prevention officer made the arrest.

This should be a lesson to all and any ugly women reading this. Save yourself some trouble by donning a paper bag with eyeholes. How embarrassing is it to be busted for shoplifting by what is essentially a rent-a-cop?

An OU athletics department spokesman said coach Sherri Coale is aware of the situation, but the department is making no comment and Coale would handle the matter internally.

Meaning the coach was looking into start selling Mary Kay cosmetics to supplement her income, but since her players can’t afford Walmart makeup how in the hell can they afford the expensive stuff?

Tony doesn’t love shoplifters

A Week Later & I Am Still Upset

Posted by Joel Jackson on April 15, 2008

First off, let me start off by saying congratulations to Kansas for willing the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. Their team deserves all the credit because they won.

Let me also congratulate the Memphis Tigers for an amazing season. So close but yet and still so far away.

As the second half began, a funny feeling came over me. Simultaneously, mucus started running out of my nose, and I was cold. I was watching the rest of the game in a blanket and my MacBook burning my lap. So as the game started slipping away, I started getting sicker and sicker. Coincidence, or maybe God once again telling this native Memphian that, once again, this is not your time.

As the next couple of days progressed, I got sicker and sicker, spending more time in bed than a hooker in Amsterdam. Of all the weeks to get flu, and it is in the 80’s outside.

During this time, I watched the second half of the game. There was a common theme each time that I watched. There was one person that stood out as the reason that the Tigers lost the game. Looking back at the season, the Tennessee loss and the near loss to UAB in Birmingham was the fault of one man:

Earlier, when I wrote the college basketball preview, I referenced the lack of John Calipari’s in-game coaching abilities. He can recruit like nobody else. He can spot talent. But sometimes I wonder if he thinks X’s and O’s are part of his favorite childhood game, Tic Tac Toe. The Tigers basically run 3 plays on offense and play a pressing man to man. Billy Packer, the most arrogant mic guy this side of Joe Buck, correctly said that the Tigers should have been running more zone during the championship game. In the semifinal game against UCLA, Pierre Niles should have been bumping uglies against Kevin Love, saving Joey Dorsey for foul trouble (even though Kevin Love choked harder than the Tigers). And for God’s sake, Mario Chalmers SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOULED!!!

Oh, but the Great Calipari said after the game that he told the team to foul before the ball gets to mid-court. I call BS on that one. He is a coach who screams at his players what he wants them to do, and if they don’t, he sits them. The team knows this, and IF he told them to foul, they didn’t listen.

The point being is that the Tigers lost two games because Calipari got outcoached, which happens a lot if you look at his career. Talent alone won the Tigers 30+ games. If there were a better coach on the sidelines, the title would be sitting on Beale St instead of some scarecrow infested wheat field in Kansas, not that I am bitter or anything…

Just Fire The Guy Already!!!!!!!!

Posted by Joel Jackson on November 5, 2007

texas_amu_logo.png

So apparently Texas A&M is reportedly negotiating a buyout with head football coach Dennis Franchione. Yes, that Coach Fran, who left Alabama after 1 year for A&M, has done absolutely squat since arriving, and who was apparently selling inside information to 12 boosters for $1,200 a pop, even though his annual salary was $2.6 million. In the interest of full disclosure, the NCAA is looking into the situation as potential rules violations may have occurred.

Word around the Aggie Bonfire is that the language in Coach Fran’s contract may allow the school to outright let the “embattled” coach go without having to pay a penalty due to his website and possible violations of HIPPA. Let’s not forget that he has been a crappy coach.

So why in the hell would A&M not just fire him??? Why wait??? The Aggies still have to go to a VERY loaded Missouri team and then the annual Texas butt-kicking (I know, A&M won last year, and a broken clock is right twice a day). Let him go. He screwed himself out of a buyout with his website.

I know Texas A&M has some powerful boosters with deep pockets, but money talks. Also, if the rumor about going after Tommy Tuberville, you are gonna have to pay Auburn for the buyout in his contract ($6 million) plus whatever his annual salary will be. Plus, why string Coach Fran along??? Let him go so that he can find the next tiny D-1A school to coach, since hardly anyone would hire him as an offensive coach (quick: name 5 teams that still run the option. I will spot you Navy).

On a related note, for any other schools that may be looking at a coaching change (Nebraska, UCLA, Arkansas), go ahead and fire these coaches. Why string it along??? Plus, by letting these guys go early, it will give your school ample time to find the replacement. Do it, and LET THE COACH STEALING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
