YMSWWC’s Awesome F**cking Guide to the 2008 Bowl Season! (With pictures this year)

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on December 18, 2008

This would have been posted earlier but I kinda sorted screwed up and forgot to send Joel the bowl schedule. Yeah, my bad, I’m a dick. Whatever. Anywho let’s go over this year bowl schedule and mine and Joel’s picks and then you call your bookie.

This year there is a smorgasbord of crap-tastic games to choose from! Yay!

Non-BCS Bowls

EagleBank Bowl
When: Dec. 20, 11 a.m., ESPN
Where: Washington
Who: Navy vs. Wake Forest

Joel says: Anchors aweigh. I really wish Navy would have beat Notre Dame again this year. Wait, this is a real bowl game???

Thomas says: I pick Navy because I’m sick and damn tired of hearing how the Wake Forest is so good. Blah blah blah. Is this bowl game being funded by any of the bailout money by the way? Read the rest of this entry »

College Football Week 6 is in the books & here’s what I learned

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 5, 2008

Let’s be honest for the most part yesterday was an exciting & entertaining crappy day of college football.

As always I’ll have a full review of the Tennessee game tomorrow after I watch a tape of the game today. For the most part the death clock continues to toll for Philopotamus.

Pittsburgh is still alive in the Big Least and shot down South Florida which I was glad to see.

Duke was on a roll until they met another team from a “smart school” that was also a buzz saw name Georgia Tech.

Michigan State continues to quietly win while Iowa continues to quietly suck.

Has anyone noticed that Minnesota is 5-1?

Right now Penn State is the most underrated top 10 team in the country.

I asked this question on a message board this week it is worth asking again. Should Arkansas be considered a Div. 2-A school this season? I bet Atlanta doesn’t look so bad to Bobby P. now huh?

Kansas, remember them? Well they almost were victims of an upset yesterday.

Oklahoma didn’t have any trouble winning their first game as the #1 in the country.

Virginia Tech is suddenly the team to beat in the ACC.

Notre Dame is 4-1 and almost lost to Stanford. With their weak schedule why aren’t they in the top 5? (Sarcasm people catch the fever!)

The Fighting Zookers of Illinois reinserts themselves in to the Big 10.

Wisconsin is on the fail slide.

Texas Tech is 5-0 and it looks like their offense has awaked.

I hate F$U but they are 4-1 and their game with Miami was a classic.

UCONN is the latest Big East failure.

America’s coach Mike Gundy has Oklahoma State at 5-0. He’s a man he’s 40! By God.

Holy shit just when you think Maryland is coming back and Virginia is dead. Virginia dismantles Maryland big time.

Arizona is 4-1 look for them to be ranked later today.

Oregon you picked a bad time to play SoCal.

Missouri might be the best team in the country right now and Chase is clearly the Heisman leader.

Wow Hawaii beat Fresno State…wow.

Vanderbilt upends Auburn at home which worries the hell out of me.

South Carolina’s offense finally shows life and Garcia still isn’t a starter, maybe he should key another professor’s car to get a little attention.

While Bama might have won yesterday the fact that Kentucky has the #1 scoring defense in the nation is no fluke.

Houston Nutt Tells Arkansas “Go F**k Yourself”

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on November 27, 2007

The tragic love/hate relationship that was Houston Nutt & Arkansas seems to be ending tonight. This is a sad day indeed. First my favorite coach to pick on Coach 0 gets fired and now Nutt is gone. The kicker with this one though is that he’s not waiting around for another bad season or “incident”, he’s basically telling Arkansas to fuck off, he’s out. Nutt gets the last laugh. Story

“Chancellor White and athletic director Frank Broyles, they want me here. They want me to stay. That’s a good feeling, and I’m excited about that.” Nutt told reporters Sunday at his weekly news conference.

So what has changed in less than 24 hours? Could it be the Big East mediocrity that will be sure to ensnare the football program when Jeff Long takes over as AD? That would be my bet that and Pappy Broyles is leaving.

Nutt has been the Arkansas coach for 10 years, and the fans simply don’t appreciate him enough. Shame on you!! So what if he inquired about the Alabama, Miami and NC State job? So what if he ran off Mitch Mustain, Damian Williams & Gus Malazan. So what if he was sending text messages to some semi-hot TV reporter right before last years bowl game. He just beat LSU! Sheesh

Arkansas will be paying Nutt about 3.4 million dollars in the divorce settlement agreement. For his 10 years there, Nutt compiled a record of 75-48 (.610) & three SEC west championships. And you fans couldn’t overlook the fact Teresa Prewett, Sherry Darby & Nutt’s wife were really the ones running show and even referred to themselves as “The Posse”. Picky Picky Picky.

Nutt’s name will most likely surface with Baylor, SMU, Georgia Tech & Ole Miss. So now Arkansas’s new AD, Jeff Long, must find another coach in time for recruiting season. I’m Dave Wannstedt will be eager to learn more and hey Coach 0 is available you better snag him now.

Fuck this place, I’m out of here bitches!

So I profess on this day 11/27/07

Coach 0 & the 20 Thieves

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on November 19, 2007

Yaw yaw Who Wants Some? Come On!!

Coach 0 is starting to show signs of becoming a good SEC coach. A perfect example of this is even though 20 players were caught stealing from hotels for a second time, he doesn’t suspend them, no he only places them on “probation”. Story

Look out God Spurrier, Fulmer, Saban & Meyer there’s a new weak disciplinarian in town. He goes by Coach 0. Some of the items taken were pillows, radios, those little bars of soap, an ice machine, 2 house keepers & a La Quinta Inn billboard. Coach 0 quickly got some boosters to pay for the items so they would be able to play against Mississippi State. Like they say in those Guinness ads “Brilliant”!

“Yaw yaw yaw thieving Brent Schaffer yaw yaw yaw” Coach 0 said.

Which translates to:

“Any actions similar to this will result in more severe penalties which may but highly doubtful include dismissal from the team or washing my balls.”

This is the fourth time Coach 0 has had to swing his “justice hammer” this season. Of course the other times involved those mythical team rules. He even suspended the SEC sack leader Greg Hardy for two games. See how smart Coach 0 is becoming, you break team rules you’re suspended, you break the law, you’re “on probation”.

Ole Miss is refusing to give out a list of the offenders, another brilliant move. If Coach 0 would have placed 21 players on probation I might refer to him as a genius, since 21 is Jerrell Powe’s IQ.

So I profess on this day 11/19/07

Ole Miss Is Wrong & Bass Ackwards

Posted by Joel Jackson on October 30, 2007

Coach Ed Orgeron, yes he the “wise” titty-twisting machine of a head coach, has suspended emerging star defensive end Greg Hardy for the dreaded “violation of team rules” rationale. Scott Cacciola of The Commercial Appeal has indicated that missing practices and meetings were the reason behind the suspension. Of course, no timetable has been set for his return.

The plot twist (or for Coach O, tit-twist) to this story is that Hardy and his family has been told by Ole Miss that should he decide to transfer, they would not grant his release to another SEC school or to the University of Memphis, in Hardy’s hometown, where Hardy starred at Briarcrest Christian and was a Rivals Top 100 recruit (and yet another recruit that Fulmer couldn’t get out of Memphis, but I digress).

So let me get this straight: You have a kid who leads the SEC in sacks and tackles for loss, who obviously does not want to be at Ole Miss anymore, but you will not allow him to transfer to another school of his own choosing??? By the way, there has been no indication that he has been missing classes and/or is failing in school. What are we talking about…practice??? Not the game, but we talkin’ about practice…

I understand that team meetings are important. I get that. I also understand that it takes a certain level of discipline to play football, especially at a major program. But to not allow the kid to leave because he is unhappy because he may go to a team that you face on your schedule for the next couple of years is asinine, especially if you are Ole Miss.

Does anyone realize this is OLE MISS FOOTBALL that we are talking about??? The same Ole Miss that fired David Cutcliffe after he had 2 losing seasons in 6 years but had plenty of 8 or 9 win years, including a Cotton Bowl win??? The same Ole Miss that has done just about nothing in my 30 years of existence of any major note (no SEC titles in football, no National Titles in football, or any other major sport that I can think of)??? The same Ole Miss who has no mascot because the Col. Sanders looking Col. Reb was deemed to “racially insensitive” and now there is no mascot at all??? The same Ole Miss that is proud of “The Grove” and all of its pageantry, but while everyone is dressed in their Sunday best, they are using Saturday night’s paper plates and plastic utensils, negating the “prim and proper” atmosphere they are going for??? That Ole Miss??? I just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same Ole Miss.

Coach O, if you are reading this (which I doubt, but you never know), here’s my take. If this is any other program in the SEC, you would be gone, if not now, but at the latest by the end of the season. However, you lucked up and landed the head coaching gig at Ole Miss. You are living off of the fact that you have brought in Top 100 recruits, but your fine coaching abilities have resulted in very few wins. Signing Day does not matter if you do nothing with the talent that you have come the following October. Hell, you haven’t done anything with them past the month of August, by October you have a very underachieving team. Coach Croom across the state has less talent and is winning. Even if he wasn’t winning this year, he has managed to pull off some upsets in the past few years. The Rebel fan base is either too set in mediocrity year after year with its football program or just doesn’t know any better. If it was Ole Miss instead of LSU, UT, Alabama, etc., you would have a moving truck in front of your home headed back to your boy Pete Carroll at USC today. You wouldn’t be alone, the athletic director Pete Boone would be gone too.

If Hardy doesn’t want to be there, let him go where he wants to go. He has to sit out a year anyway. What’s the point of keeping him there??? Ole Miss won’t let him transfer to a conference school or an out of conference “rival”. So by this logic would the school let him go to Ohio State, Oregon, Clemson, West Virginia??? Are these schools any better than another SEC school??? I am not excusing Hardy’s behavior. He should not miss team meetings. But the Bowden-Spurrier-Fulmer-Tressel-Meyer School of Player Discipline states that you sit him for a series or maybe a quarter. To put him on indefinite suspension, especially when he can help you, is excessive. At the same time, Ole Miss isn’t going anywhere and maybe boosters will wake up out of their “Hotty Toddy” stupor and realize that the current band of merry men that are running the athletics and football programs are no better than a guy carrying a raccoon club to a gun fight…

p.s. Did your fine academic department ever teach Jerrell Powe how to spell the word “cat”???
