College Football Week 6 is in the books & here’s what I learned

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on October 5, 2008

Let’s be honest for the most part yesterday was an exciting & entertaining crappy day of college football.

As always I’ll have a full review of the Tennessee game tomorrow after I watch a tape of the game today. For the most part the death clock continues to toll for Philopotamus.

Pittsburgh is still alive in the Big Least and shot down South Florida which I was glad to see.

Duke was on a roll until they met another team from a “smart school” that was also a buzz saw name Georgia Tech.

Michigan State continues to quietly win while Iowa continues to quietly suck.

Has anyone noticed that Minnesota is 5-1?

Right now Penn State is the most underrated top 10 team in the country.

I asked this question on a message board this week it is worth asking again. Should Arkansas be considered a Div. 2-A school this season? I bet Atlanta doesn’t look so bad to Bobby P. now huh?

Kansas, remember them? Well they almost were victims of an upset yesterday.

Oklahoma didn’t have any trouble winning their first game as the #1 in the country.

Virginia Tech is suddenly the team to beat in the ACC.

Notre Dame is 4-1 and almost lost to Stanford. With their weak schedule why aren’t they in the top 5? (Sarcasm people catch the fever!)

The Fighting Zookers of Illinois reinserts themselves in to the Big 10.

Wisconsin is on the fail slide.

Texas Tech is 5-0 and it looks like their offense has awaked.

I hate F$U but they are 4-1 and their game with Miami was a classic.

UCONN is the latest Big East failure.

America’s coach Mike Gundy has Oklahoma State at 5-0. He’s a man he’s 40! By God.

Holy shit just when you think Maryland is coming back and Virginia is dead. Virginia dismantles Maryland big time.

Arizona is 4-1 look for them to be ranked later today.

Oregon you picked a bad time to play SoCal.

Missouri might be the best team in the country right now and Chase is clearly the Heisman leader.

Wow Hawaii beat Fresno State…wow.

Vanderbilt upends Auburn at home which worries the hell out of me.

South Carolina’s offense finally shows life and Garcia still isn’t a starter, maybe he should key another professor’s car to get a little attention.

While Bama might have won yesterday the fact that Kentucky has the #1 scoring defense in the nation is no fluke.

Random Musings for Friday…A Tragic Thing has Occured

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on September 26, 2008

I’m presently writing this from a double super secret location. Tragically my motherboard died last night so this is not typed from comfort of my lair. I’ll buy a new one today and be up and running by tonight. In the mean time think about this:

The USC Trojans were beaten by the Beavers (Get your minds out of the gutter) to become the newest most talented college football failures.

LawVol has written on open letter to the Vol nation.

Who would you choose as the next University of Tennessee football coach?

There are plenty of rumors that swirling around Phil Fulmer at the moment.

You should see what the soccer moms are carrying in Lebanon, Pa.

And now here is the newest “Damn! what a catch!” It should win an Espy.

College Football Week 4 is in the books & here’s what I learned

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on September 21, 2008

So far this season is not like last season but so far so good nonetheless.

Tennessee sucks! Wait I already knew that…expect some more on this subject as the week progresses.

Georgia adds to the PAC 10 non conference woes by beating Arizona State with ease and Oregon did not help matters much by losing to Boise State. Basically everyone in the PAC 10 is playing for second place behind SoCal. Anyone see the awesome dive Moreno did to score the first TD? However he should have received a flag for celebration.

To see it live was awesome.

Missouri failed to impress against Buffalo.

Texas and Texas Tech. both flex some Big 12 muscle yesterday by trouncing their opponents.

And The Tide of Alabama continues to roll however credit 14 points of the 49 they scored to great defense.

South Florida fails to impress.

Not so fast Auburn fans and haters…they do have an offense after all but they lost nevertheless. Les “Big Hat Little Penis” Miles might be at least the 2nd best coach in the SEC. This was easily the best game of the week.

South Carolina gets by 1-AA Wofford…Spurrier can’t be happy right now.

Ohio State is the most over ranked in the top 25, Penn State is the team to beat in the Big Eleven Ten.

BYU is easily this years BCS buster…but let’s not forget about Utah.

East Carolina…fails…but Skip Holtz is still a hot commodity.

Florida State’s offense is simply lost and Wake Forest is the team to bear in the ACC.

Butch Davis better go back to the drawing board because North Carolina isn’t there yet.

Georgia Tech wrecked Miss State and Sly Croom.

Hell has frozen over because right now Vandy is sitting atop the SEC East.

Kansas let’s not forget about them.

Clemson got some frustration out by beating up on SC State.

Fresno State…is still ranked for a reason.

Hey Notre Dame still sucks imagine that.

Pittsburgh pick up your Big East flag & wave it proudly…just like last year Iowa sucks.

Look at Maryland 3-1 and might be ranked come later today.

Boston College could also be ranked as well.

Syracuse actually wins a game, of course it was against a 1-AA opponent but a win is a win.

Cincinnati is still looking like the team to beat in the Big East.

Miami will be scary good by the end of the year.

College Football Week 3 is in the books & here’s what I learned + an update on Joel!!

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on September 14, 2008

First off I have great news. Joel has more than survived his epic bout with Hurricane Ike. Joel suffered no damage however he does not power, but him and his family are safe & dry. He would like to thank all the people that were praying for him.

His next bout will be with the government over the fleecing of gas that has occurred with this hurricane. Did you know that oil prices actually dropped last Friday? Of course not because they spiked to a staggering amount. These refineries only produce 25% of this nation’s gas, and some of that is exported. Nevertheless gas should only go up by 25%, big government should step in but never will.

Ok I just had to get that off my chest. That will be one of few times you’ll see something political on this blog…unless I find some hot photos of Sarah Palin. Is so wrong to lust after a female running for vice president?

South Florida decided to show some Big East pride by beating Kansas. This was a great game. The Kansas QB is awesome. It would be foolish of teams in the NFL not to draft him. I don’t care how tall he is. Think how good Doug Flutie could have been. Trust me there are a lot of NFL teams kicking themselves for not drafting him because of his height.

The Kansas QB reminds me of Vince Young except not as tall, stronger, more accurate, and not suicidal and he isn’t whiner.

Hyped games like the Nuts verses the Contraceptives suck. The SoCal-Ohio State was b-o-r-i-n-g. Let’s face it. Right now SoCal is that good. I don’t care if Beanie Wells didn’t play. The score wouldn’t have changed that much.

Under hyped games rule!! Kansas-South Florida & Fresno State-Wisconsin were awesome games.

Georgia failed to impress. However some of you might remember back in August that I predicted that Garcia would make his debut in the Georgia game and I was right. Self ^5.

Oklahoma continues to impress as Ty Willingham might need to start packing his bags.

Missouri looks great!

LSU did what LSU was supposed to do and beat a nobody team convincingly.

Does Auburn have an offense or is the defense of Miss. State that good?

The Tide continues to roll and they will be rolling next week as they play the worst SEC team in Arkansas. And even though the Texas-Arkansas was postponed, Texas would have crushed them.

East Carolina pulls out a squeaker and the R-E-S-P-E-C-T factor is falling with them as it is with Georgia Tech as well.

People better watch out for Ole Miss and Nebraska.

Everyone point and laugh at the PAC 10 this week. Sure USC rolled and Oregon pulled out a miracle but Arizona State lost to UNLV, UCLA got ass raped by the Mormons of BYU, Cal lost to Maryland….that right there deserves a LOL.

The ACC isn’t fairing any better as well with Virginia losing to UCONN big. Remember UCONN struggled against Temple last week.

Cutcliff is winning at Duke though. Way to go Coach!

Oh La La almost pulled off another epic upset against Illinois yesterday.

Penn State looks impressive I mean very impressive.

Oklahoma State continues to roll and roll big.

OMG Kentucky is undefeated.

Utah continues to roll. How important will the Utah-BYU game this year?

The Notre Dame defense looks good then again it was against Michigan. However Charlie Weis is more man than Tom Brady by electing not to have surgery on his busted up leg. Get better Coach I hate to pick on gimps.

I have a post coming up about the Tennessee game.

Did anyone notice how Herbstreit finally admits Mark Sanchez will probably be a Heisman finalist after side stepping the question?

Finally has anyone noticed how eerily similar that USC QB Mark Sanchez resembles Richard Ramirez AKA the serial killer known as the Night Stalker? (Insert scary music here)

Are you feeling lonely, depressed and happen to be in the Los Angeles area? Then you too can “Rent a USC Song Girl”

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on September 9, 2008

No this is some pimping scheme I’ve dreamed up, trust me I would happily take credit for it if that was the case.

This is truth I’m speaking about. All you have to do is fill out a request form pay $150.00 fee and bingo you can actually rent a USC song girl. I’m in just as long as there aren’t any extensive background checks.

The form is rather complicated with hard questions such as “What do you want the Song Girls to do?” Insert your own perverted joke here & add on wash and wax my car & then you can say you think like me.

The newest excuse for men who might be “looking” outside their marriage:

Honey, I didn’t buy a hooker, I rented her….you know like what they are doing over there at USC.

I do have one tiny question about this thing. Can I get volume discounts?

Today at 4:30 p.m. Eastern LenDale White will proclaim his dislike for tOSU on “Rome Is Burning”

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on August 29, 2008

Irreverent NFL running back LenDale White a former Southern Cal player to proclaim that he thinks Ohio State sucks on “Rome Is Burning” which airs on ESPN. So everyone gather around your TV and pop some popcorn to watch this less than historic event.

If for some reason you can’t watch it today then I have a special treat for you. Here is the audio of it.

LenDale White says Ohio State Sucks

This makes the second former SoCal player to say negative things about tOSU Carson Palmer being the first.

Hey Ohio State Fans…some Quarterback Named Carson Palmer can’t stand you

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on July 21, 2008

Carson Palmer, the former Heisman winning QB for SoCal and current Cincinnati Bengals QB, has a clear message for Ohio State fans. He can’t stand them at least that’s what he said Los Angeles radio show.

“I cannot stand the Buckeyes. It’s amazing to hear what those guys think about that university and what they think about that football program and Tressel and all the crap I gotta put up with being back there.

I just can’t wait for two years from now when SC comes to the ‘Shoe and hopefully we’ll have a home game that weekend and I can go up there and watch us pound on them in their own turf

I’m really getting sick of it and I just can’t wait for this game to get here so they can come out to the Coliseum and experience LA and get an old-fashioned Pac-10 butt-whoopin’ and go back to the Big Ten.”

Yes, Carson is certainly making new fans everyday. If this keeps up I’m sure the rumor mill will start turning to a certain quarterback named Brett F**re (I refuse to type his name) coming to the Bengals.

Then again I did say that tOSU fans knew they weren’t liked so maybe this isn’t a shock to them.

SoCal Prepares to Play Dumb Again

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on May 22, 2008

SoCal s planning to tell the NCAA it did not know of any improper activity between over hyped O.J. Mayo and an event promoter alleged to have given the basketball player $30,000 in cash and gifts. Yeah…and I’m the pope…

USC still doesn’t realize that buying Reggie Bush a house is improper. Big surprise they don’t see impropriety.

School officials said the NCAA might speak with the school this week, and USC is preparing its initial defense, including telling the NCAA that it previously had banned the promoter, Rodney Guillory, from receiving tickets to Trojans games.

“Right now, we’re just trying to weather the storm,” a USC official said

Just one slight problem with that defense, Guillory was seen often at the USC basketball offices, around the locker room, and at pickup games at the Galen Center, where Mayo played last summer.

Mayo has repeatedly denied allegations of accepting money and gifts in violation of NCAA rules.

“My family hasn’t accepted anything, so I’m just waiting for the NCAA to do what they have to do to prove that I haven’t done anything wrong,” Mayo told the Los Angeles Times last week, “… but I know for a fact that I haven’t accepted anything.”

Scene…NCAA Investigation Room…Tom Cruise starring as the NCAA, Jack Nicholsen starring as USC in the movie “A Few Good Liars”:
USC: You want answers?
NCAA: I think I’m entitled.
USC: You want answers?!
NCAA: I want the truth!
USC: You can’t handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has money and that money needs to be accumulated by big companies that flaunt rules. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, NCAA? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for OJ Mayo and curse the Trojans; you have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that hanging OJ Mayo out to dry and denying culpability, while tragic, probably saved millions of dollars and that my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves millions of dollars.
You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties you want me to make you money, you need me to make you money. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use then as the backbone of a life trying to defend something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket bought by the money I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said “thank you,” and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest that you pick up a tin cup and beg on street corners. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.

Now my take:

This can all be circumvented if college athletes are ineligible to be drafted in ALL sports until after their junior year of eligibility. I know, I know, I know, some one will probably challenge this in Court. Heck let them. Let’s get a ruling on it. There can be an out. Don’t sign a scholarship following high school graduation to participate in inter-collegiate and go straight to the pros; that is, of course, if you are good enough. But anomalies like Moses Malone; Kobe Bryant and LaBron James are few and far between; hence, anomalies. An Another exemption is if a coach takes a scholarship away from an athlete after his/her freshman or sophomore year. Those athletes can then and only then become eligible to turn pro prior to completing their junior year of college. As for athletes that abuse the process and purposefully get kicked off teams in order to become eligible to turn pro then fine. Hey, they will fit right in with spoil bratted pros, but then again they may not get drafted because who wants, needs, or can trust such a surreptitious character on their team anyway.

Finally, this rule will curtail a lot of train wrecks from occurring. Too many young men who think they are ready for pro sports and who have had their heads filled with agent’s garbage about how good they are “right now” and how ready they are “right now” have had their dreams foiled when they find out that they aren’t ready at all and find themselves on the scrap heap of cut players.

Whatever the outcome of this will be one thing is for sure…USC isn’t doing too well with former athletes named OJ.

Remember I still need “bail” money!!! Click here for details.

Former BFF of O.J. Simpson Tells What 99.9% of the US Population Already Knew

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on May 12, 2008

In keeping with a SoCal theme a former BFF of O.J. states in an upcoming book that the Slasher Juice was high on sweet stinky weed when he confessed to killing his ex-wife after he was acquitted.

OH MY GOSH!!!! OJ Simpson is guilty. Oh wow. Gosh golly goo! No!!! It can’t be possible. I’m shocked. I’m Outraged!!!! Oh my. OH MY!!! I don’t know what to do with my life now. I was so sure that he didn’t do it, I have to change my whole life’s direction. Oh my goodness, what am I gonna do now?

Mike Gilbert also claims he helped his former BFF wiggle out of the murder charges by suggesting how to bloat his hands so the gloves wouldn’t fit and they had to acquit.

Gilbert’s book, “How I Helped O.J. Get Away With Murder: The Shocking Inside Story of Violence, Loyalty, Regret and Remorse” is due in stores today.

He said Simpson had smoked pot, took a sleeping pill and was drinking beer when he confided at his Brentwood home weeks after his trial what happened the night of June 12, 1994. Simpson said he went to his ex-wife’s condominium, but did not bring a knife with him. Simpson told him Nicole Brown Simpson had one in her hand when she opened the door.

In a soft mumble, Simpson told him:

“If she hadn’t opened that door with a knife in her hand … she’d still be alive.”

“Nothing more needed to be said,” Gilbert writes. “O.J. had confessed to me. There’s no doubt in my mind.”

Simpson’s current lawyer Yale Galanter said none of Gilbert’s claims are true and that Gilbert is “a delusional drug addict who needs money. He’s fallen on very hard times. He is in trouble with the IRS.”

“I’ve talked to O.J. about it,” said Galanter, who refused to allow Simpson to comment directly because of his upcoming robbery trial in Las Vegas. “This stuff not only didn’t occur but it’s not factually supported by the evidence.”

One liar calling another liar a liar. Captivating.

The name calling and accusations on both sides showed that deep wounds persist and neither have been spotted wearing their BFF heart necklaces since 07.

In a phone interview, Gilbert called Galanter “an ambulance chaser and an enabler and denier for O.J. I know. I used to do the same thing. I understand the game.”

He acknowledged he has IRS problems which he says were caused by Simpson but said:

“I could take a drug test and pass it. I highly doubt that O.J. could.”

Boom…head shot for Gilbert.

Gilbert said he continued to represent Simpson for another decade after the alleged confession, hawking items with his autograph (got to ♥ E-bay), hiding the profits and helping Simpson shield his possessions so they could not be seized by the Goldman family.

Gilbert also claims that he counseled the jailed Simpson during his murder trial to stop taking his arthritis medicine so his hands would swell up and not fit the bloody gloves in court. Of course he offers no proof Simpson followed his advice or that he was taking any medicine, but the drama that played out in court when the gloves didn’t fit was central to Simpson’s defense.

Gilbert said he broke with Simpson two years ago because he felt cheated, didn’t approve of his lifestyle and was repulsed by “If I Did It.” He writes that he was guided to do his own the book by dreams in which he saw the ghosts of his dead grandmother and of Nicole Brown Simpson and that Miss Cleo told him to do so.

He refers to himself in the book as a “Judas,” because he is betraying Simpson and he’s ashamed of what he did and wants to soothe his conscience.

He writes that he was not alone in helping Simpson beat the murder charges, but “I hope to be the first to finally confess.”

Gilbert said he funnelled money from autograph signing appearances to Simpson under the table so the Goldman family could not get it. Gilbert said he paid Simpson 80 percent, kept 20 percent but had to pay taxes on the whole amount. He said Simpson repeatedly told him they’d settle up later.

But they never did and when pushed Simpson reminded him of the Goldman debt: “Hey, at least you don’t owe $33.5 million.”

“Yeah, I didn’t kill anybody either,” Gilbert replied. Simpson scowled.

He offers apologies to the dead Nicole Brown Simpson, whom he said he never liked, and to the Goldman family.

Nice…what an ass.

“He offers an apology for money laundering?” said Goldman attorney David Cook. “I don’t think we want the apology. I think we need the money. Send us a check, not an I’m sorry.”

He said he plans to use the book as a treasure map to Simpson’s hidden assets.

Gilbert, 53, was a childhood fan of Simpson who was thrilled when another client, football great Marcus Allen, introduced them and they began doing business together.

Gilbert wrote in his book that he was admitted to a world of privilege and he got caught up in a power trip in which he believed he was better than “ordinary people.”

“O.J. mattered more,” he said. “The fringe benefits that came with being one of O.J.’s friends mattered more — or at least we thought they did.”

Gilbert wrote the book for many reasons. It wasn’t just to make money or hurt Simpson.

“Nothing can hurt O.J.,” he said in an interview. “He doesn’t have the emotions we have.”

In a chapter on the Las Vegas case, he acknowledges that Simpson was in search of memorabilia he believed Gilbert stole from him, including the suit he wore the day he was acquitted.

“I never sold the suit, not even when I was dead broke,” he writes. “At least that’s something small to be proud of.”

But Gilbert does acknowledge that he unsuccessfully tried to sell the suit at one point — before he sold his book.

All in all, this guy isn’t creditable… but OJ probably did it though…

We didn’t need this guy’s book to know that OJ murdered his wife.

Way Over Hyped Mayo Received Gifts from Boosters. YoJoe Is going to be Pissed at me

Posted by Thomas the Terrible on May 12, 2008

I’m going to be honest because no one else will say it. O.J. Mayo was over hyped, overrated & not even the best player in the PAC-10. In an apparent violation of NCAA rules while he was still in high school and during his one year in college, former USC basketball player O.J. Mayo, received thousands of dollars in cash, clothes and other benefits.

Louis Johnson, a one time inner circle member. says Mayo accepted around $30,000 in cash and gifts during the past four years from Rodney Guillory, a 43-year-old Los Angeles event promoter. In addition to cash, the gifts included a flat-screen television for Mayo’s dorm room, cell phone service, a hotel room, clothes, meals and airline tickets for Mayo’s friends and a relative, according to Johnson, others with knowledge of the gifts and store receipts.

If anyone is surprised by this I have a large bridge to sell you.

When Mayo was in high school in Ohio and West Virginia, Guillory was receiving monthly payments from the Northern California sports agency Bill Duffy Associates. Johnson said BDA provided Guillory with around $200,000 before Mayo arrived at USC, and that Guillory used most of the money to support his own lifestyle but also gave a portion of it to Mayo.

In exchange for the payments and gifts, Mayo entered a verbal agreement to allow BDA to represent him when he turned pro. He named BDA’s Calvin Andrews his agent. Go figure.

After Duffy’s company quit funding Guillory last year, Johnson says Guillory gave Mayo the flat-screen television, a hotel room and meals — and paid for it with a credit card that belongs to a nonprofit organization called “The National Organization of Sickle Cell Prevention and Awareness Foundation.” The organization has never been registered as a charitable trust with the California Attorney General’s Office. Mary E. Brown, president and CEO of the Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of California, said she had never heard of the foundation for which Guillory charged purchases through.

Another way of saying “It’s a shell charity.” If this turns out to be true, SoCal could eventually be taking it up the ass…but don’t count on it.

Johnson has had his own troubles in the past. A couple of years after initially meeting Guillory and Mayo, he was unemployed and received a suspended sentence and probation after being charged with selling cocaine.

Guillory was also involved with former USC basketball player Jeff Trepagnier, who was suspended in 2000 for taking illegal benefits (the NCAA ruled that Guillory had purchased airfare for Trepagnier and Fresno State’s Tito Maddox).

To bad this happened at USC because it likely nothing will come of it. God forbid if that happened at an SEC school. Three smoking guns now at USC. Any other school and they would be buried in sanctions.

Of course none of this would have happened if Mayo had the self control of a chimp on crystal meth. All he had to do was wait 6 months and all the riches untold would be his, his school would not be suffering a scandal. It only would have been 6 months, yet he did not have the self discipline to wait. How will he handle all the money when he has demonstrated the impulse control of a 3 year old?

This is the future of SoCal basketball.
